Support » Fixing WordPress » Changed hosts, now where do I change directory prefix?

I recently moved both my files and database to a new host. My new host has a different structure from my old one and I can no longer upload files to the server. When I attempted to post an image today, I was greeted with the following error:

“photo.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /hsphere/local/home/old-host/example.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

While my old full path was
    /hsphere/local/home/old-host/example.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/07

My new full path would be
    /public_html/example/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/07

    Where would I change this?

I was able to create an actual post with text and links, etc, but the file uploading did not work.

    Thanks!

    Contact host for proper settings

Seacoast Web Design Member, if you read the full post, you’ll see that I know the path. What I don’t know is where to change the path in my WordPress settings.

    Try resetting in Dashboard>>Settings>>Media

Toggle the settings a few times and save. If that doesn’t work for some reason, you’ll need to search for that option in the options table in the database via phpmyadmin.

That was totally it, songdogtech. Thank you!

This was then not a new host issue
