Support » Plugin: Facebook » "You must configure the plugin to enable Facebook for WordPress"

  • Help! I followed the instructions to install the plugin and now my blog is only showing “You must configure the plugin to enable Facebook for WordPress”. I’ve clicked on link to “configure the plugin” and nothing happens. I click on Dashboard, Post, Media, etc in my left hand navigation and NOTHING is opening.

    Help!

@gsale22 It’s probably because of a conflict with another Facebook plugin that’s using an old version of the SDK.

Can you try disabling all of your other FB plugins and let me know if that fixes it? We can debug from there. Thanks

Help, the same is happening to me. I can’t open anything. I tried everything. But nothing works.

same issue. i can not do anything w/ plugins on my site now…

Have you tried disabling other Facebook plugins, first?

I completely deleted all plugins but it is still saying the same thing! Am I not looking at the right place to disable other Facebook plugins?

    Thanks!

Hi Matt. This is the first Facebook plugin, so I don’t have any other plugins to disable. The only thing that shows on the screen is “You must configure the plugin to enable Facebook for WordPress” and I am still unable to open anything. I can’t write any blogs or do anything. 🙁

I am having the same problem, I have deleted all my cookies, plugins, etc. and no dice! Help please!

William gave me the below solution. It works for me. I have my website back.

    -Download Filezilla .
-Then go to wp-content/plugins/Delete your plugin there.

I had someone who helps with the website go in and disable the facebook plugin which worked!!!

Please, does someone have advice how to fix it? I cant do anything and it is not possible to delete it from my server from folder plugins :(((

Agh, this facebook plugin has taken over my wordpress as well! So frustrated! I downloaded Filezilla but have no idea how to go to wp-content. It’s not listed from what I see. Help?!

Hey MattKelly, thanks for making the plugin – does it work properly yet? Or do we have ways to go?

This plugin just made my day miserable. Anyone have a solution?

Ok guys, I have a solution!!!!!! Rename in your FTP folder pluging for something different like “plugins.deactived” and then create on the same place folder “plugins” (be carefull you use small “p”) and move good working plugins to the new folder and activate them in WP.
