i read the readme file that has details on this. just need the code to place to call all the posts in WP…
The API used for using special client software to make posts to your WordPress blog.
To import posts from Blogger, you need to look at wp-admin/import-blogger.php

so i can only import blogger content on a freshly installed blogger otherwise it overwrites all the initial posts?
well i successfully imported blogger content on a blank WP. Worked perfectly. Amazing… Awesome… 😛
And since it imports using dates, i think importing in an old installation should not be a problem too. 🙂
I finally got up the nerve to try the blogger import at Slumberland, and it worked fine. Slumberland was already operating as a WP blog, and I backed it up before the import just to be safe, but there was no problem at all. And now I have almost 4 years’ worth of blog entries in my WP. 🙂

I tried importing blogger entries, but they don’t seem to show up in the admin panel… I’m assuming you’d be able to edit the posts after you’ve imported them, but they are no where to be found. I’ve gotten the republish and everything working on the Blogger side, but when I try converting the entries, the php file gives me this message basically over and over (with just the Timestamp changing):
Skipping duplicate post, ID = ‘2’
Timestamp: -1:06:01-00 AM:00:00
Post Title: ”
–for what I figure is for each entry I made in a particular month. I don’t know what is wrong; I followed the directions exactly in the import-blogger.php file. 🙁
I got the same “error” when I imported all my blogger entries as well. When I checked though, they were all there. I didn’t lose a single one! I wouldn’t worry about it too much, just do some spot checking and make sure that the posts came in.

Where exactly would you check? I mean there should be a way to edit those entries through the admin panel, right? I can see the actual Blogger files there on my server with FTP, but I can’t access them any other way except through FTP. The Blogger entries never really went anywhere; they stayed the same, but there doesn’t seem to be any corresponding WordPress entries… rather, if there are, I don’t know where to access them.
OH…. no… WP doesn’t use flat files, the way Blogger does…. everything got pulled into the MySQL database.
From the WP admin screen, click “Edit” (if using v1.0+) or “Post/Edit” (if using 0.72) Down towards the bottom, there should begin the list of the posts…. you may need to manipulate the “search” criteria by showing more, and moving to other apges to see the ones imported.

Alright, I realized I made a really dumb mistake with the Timestamp setting– it was kind of confusing where to set it and all, so I guess I didn’t set it correctly or something, and none of the entries imported. I knew I did something wrong. Ehhh. Well, a few hours later, they’ve been all imported without a hitch. Thanks so much for your help TG! 🙂

There is a script for stealing content from other sources if you want to use that. I use it all the time now. it’s at hotscripts.com somewhere lol. aren’t i helpful.
I have the same problem. The entries appear to have imported just fine, I can see them over FTP, but I can’t find them anywhere in my ‘Edit’ section. I’ve tried searching for them using Opera and IE. No joy.
I’m pretty sure I used the right date and timestamp setting, too.
It’s not vital I import my Blogger entries, since they’re really old, but I thought it would be nice. Any advice would be much appreciated!
