Text Widget Deletes text when Saved

    Text widgets were working just fine this morning. I went to add a table, using html to a text widget. Once I hit “save” it deleted everything in the content field and will no longer allow me to save ANY text into the widget. I’ve tried IE, FF, and Chrome browsers. I’ve tried another computer. Tried the 2011 theme just to see if the theme mattered. This is frustrating as I have 10 other sites that are all working fine, with text in the sidebar, but I’m concerned about editing for fear of losing the text widgets that are currently working.

    I searched the forums, and couldn’t find any real solutions (other than wait an hour, which I tried). Google also didn’t turn up much help.

    Stuck as usual 🙂 Please help

    I just installed the image widget plugin to see if I could get an image into the sidebar/widget. No luck. It allowed me to fill in all the fields, but when I hit “save” it dumps everything, just like the text widget does.

    I can’t figure out what would have cause this.

    Again, everything was working fine until I attempted to enter some html into a text widget earlier, and now it won’t save anything I input.

    Same thing happened to me, then it DELETED ALL MY WIDGETS. Any help?!

    tried deactivating all plugins and changing themes. Nothing worked. I’m going to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of wordpress. That should work. I’ll post my results here

    hmm works now. Maybe a temporary bug? Hopefully it doesnt happen again.

    Holy crap! Thanks Japan!!!

    I was just about to pull the trigger on the uninstall and spend the next few hours putting the pieces back together.

    Not sure what the deal was, but mine is back to normal now too. Thanks!

    no thank you! Misery loves company. I thought I was in this boat alone. I know its horrible but its always nice to go through a bug with someone else. I’m glad we were able to solve the problem together!
