Out of the box no this is not possible. By modifying Quick Chat code it is probably possible, actually anything is possible by changing source code.

I use this thread because my question is somehow related. I need to have a command to clean up the whole history in one bit. I was hoping that setting the number of the 300 default messages to 0 would have solved the problem but it doesn’t accept a value of zero. This command is one of the most important features a chat should have because allows moderators to wipe off the board suddenly killing everything that goes against rules like for instance posting personal data and so on. Maybe a little help with a bit of extra coding to enable the total clean would do it?

    thx

Implementing this “clean slate” command wouldn’t achieve your goal. When you as admin delete one or all messages this change will affect only new users (or existing users who reload page). Deleted message will not disappear from other users chat history until they reload page. Reasons for this have technical nature. I could complicate design to circumvent this technical limitation but this would up performance requirements and chat applications like Quick Chat need a lot of server power as is. It just doesn’t pay off to go into this.

As always, if this is something really important to you, I can be hired to implement it. I don’t believe all users would agree to up performance requirements for everyone with feature that only some users would find useful or necessary.

Thank you Marko, I totally agree with you. Btw, using toggle (which I think should have a different name) and then clean, works at least to clear up what the admin has on view.

If you have an idea please suggest a name for “toggle”? I had a hard time finding something short, one word preferably maybe two that makes sense in this context.

Well I understand….. anyway the concept should be select all / deselect all, hard to find one word for that; may be tick/untick or tick-toggle ?

“select all / deselect all” is a bit too long for link or button but “tick-toggle” looks OK and better than current “toggle”. I’m putting it on my TODO. Thanks and wish you all best.
