We have a private access portion on our website, http://www.k-laserusa.com. People click ‘Register’ in the upper right corner for the registration page. Since upgrading to WP 3.4, they get an ‘Email address already registered’ error message, even when they are not registered for our site.

I’ve checked All Users, and this error message appears for email addresses that are not registered.

    Can anyone help?

  • Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Thanks kmess – I appreciate your suggestions, but that is more than I want to tackle. I’ve enlisted the help of someone who knows WordPress much better than I do.

    Hi there
I have encountered the same problem (since uninstalling WP 3.4.2 and reverting to the trusted 3.4.1)

Please advise how to correct it?

Please start with a new post. Tacking on to one that is old and marked resolved won’t get you much help.
