I have searched and searched for a few hours on top of tweaking some code that comes close to what I need, to no luck.

Basically I have main categories and then subcategories. I am trying to get a child category count. All I want is the number, not the name of the category or a link to it. Everything I tried only counts the post and not the child categories only.

If anybody has any clue all help and suggestions would be appreciated 🙂

$num_child_cats = $num_cats-$num_parent_cats;
