• I admit that I feel stupid, but I just don’t see the way to link the image to a page on my site.

The “Link” space on the widget is just the link for the image that’s being uploaded. There’s no other space to enter a link to a page.

I’m using the most recent version of Image Widget, 3.3.4.

Just a couple words of guidance…?

Thats because by default you go to the picture. Just replace the link with the link to your page and you will be a-okay πŸ˜‰

And remember – in future – experiment. Not much can go wrong. Thats how I found out -was thinking the same thing first time around…

    That’s a wonderful answer!

Thanks for responding. I always try things out several times and in several different ways before posting. Here’s the problem:

If I leave the default link for the image, then clicking on the image brings it up in a lightbox. Now when I try to add a page link where the default image link appears, it just doesn’t work. Clicking on the image brings up a box that says “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and the image exists.”

I’ve tried setting the link to open in a new window, as I read that is necessary for the page link, but still the same error message appears.

Ultimately I want to link the image to a lightbox contact form, but I’d settle now for knowing just how to link it to a page! What am I doing wrong?

If you post the link you try to use I can test it…maybe we can work something out…

    Sure, thanks!

Here’s the page with the image widget in the sidebar.

    http://www.englishexperts.com.mx/business-english/.

And this is where the image should be linked to:

Hum – it works like a charm for me…

And if you ctrl-click your banner on your site it opens neatly in a new window…

Have you tried without the fancy pattern around the picture?

    danrknudsen

    (@maildanrknudsendk)

And have you tried just typing the last part of the adress?

    /get-connected/

No idea why it would work – but stranger things has happend…

I’m a bit confused. Were you linked to the page? Which banner? And which fancy pattern? The border around the image is set there by default according to the size of the image.

And have you tried just typing the last part of the adress?

    /get-connected/

Thanks, I tried that, but still nothing. I have no idea what the problem is. I tried reuploading the plugin, but to no avail.

I tried to put your link in my installation of the image-widget. That worked fine.

When I crtl-click on the image/banner on your page and choose “open in new window” – it works…

Yes – the border – beacuse its also a picture – it just might fuck something up – i’m completely in the dark here – sorry…

You’re right that the link works just fine when I crtl-click. It’s so strange that even though I’ve set the widget to open the image link in a new window, the pop-up appears.

And the link works fine in your theme? Maybe the problem is with my theme then!

Any idea how to remove the image border?

This is not an image widget problem. This is a lightbox problem. Whatever you’re using for the lightboxing is not compatible with the image widget out of the box.

You can override the image widget template if you want but it’s a little advanced.

But when I view the page source, i see that the HTML is working fine for the image widget. It’s just that the lightbox plugin you’re using is hijacking it.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I haven’t installed any lightboxes and I’ve deactivated several other plugins that I’m not currently using just to be safe. Still nothing. Could this be an issue with the template itself? What else can I try?
