Sharing with plugins

    I’ve been using sharethis for some time. Today, I removed the plugin and installed sharings counters from various social networks on my own. Now all my counters are 0.

    I understand that sharethis shortens the url when it shares links. Is there any way to make facebook count these short urls the same as the long urls? Why don’t twitter or facebook look beyond the url and to where it is redirected?
