    (@rsingleton)

Sorry – I looked at the history for 2 days and still can’t resolve this issue. I am hosting on Bluehost. I asked them if they were blocking any ports or fopen() they said no. However I have been unable to get this to work using gmail, google apps, or icloud mail servers.

yes i’ve checked settings, account username, pass, etc…

    Here is the log

This is a test email generated by the WP Mail SMTP WordPress plugin.

  • I’m also having the same problem, also on BlueHost. Has there been any resolution for this?

I’m having the same problem, but on Hostgator. Any ideas?

    Same problem here,

SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110)

    The following From address failed:

I use Google apps for business.

I see this was resolved. I’m having the same problem, can someone tell me what the solution is? Please!

    Dutch RC

    (@jps-autosport)

I solved it yesterday because port 465 was closed.
Only the error whas time out and not port closed.

I don’t understand. Are you saying not to use port 465?

    Dutch RC

    (@jps-autosport)

No I mean on my server port 465 was closed.
After opening this in the firewall the timeout problem was solved instantly.

Oh, gotcha… I have no idea how to check to see if it is closed in the firewall, I’m not as tech savvy. 🙁

Is it fairly simple or will I need to have my web hoster handle it?

    Dutch RC

    (@jps-autosport)

    Better ask your host.
Some won’t let you change the firewall.

    Ok, thanks!
