• The documentation suggested that you could but everytime I save the category the description disappears. If I just put plain text in there it stays but I want something like
    Description: <img src=”http://www.domain.com/images/artist_thumb.jpg&#8221; alt=”Artist Name” />

So that I can call category descriptions consisting of thumbnails. Any chance that can work?

  • I am having exactly the same problem. It looks to me like simple styling tags (eg, <b>) work OK, but not

tags (which is what I really need.

    Try using custom fields instead.

How would custom fields work? The functionality I would like is just to have html in the category description at the top of every category page.

The code is getting parsed somewhere and told to keep some html elements but not the img tag. The question is finding where it is doing this check and changing it. Unfortunately I am brand new at WP and haven’t yet been able to find the code.
Ideally we would have a plugin to associate an image with each category description which would automatically show up.
