I've changed my site URL and I'm having trouble with the media

I’ve changed the file URL paths in the Media settings to reflect the new site’s URL. It appears to be working when I upload new media (right now I’m just doing pictures). But when I click on the image in the library WP is unable to display the image. When I inspect the element it says that the image WP is trying to display is http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/correct-file-name-50×50.png instead of just http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/correct-file-name.png like it is supposed to. Why is WP trying to add the “50×50” to the end of my picture names? I tried uploading more images and it keeps adding the 50×50 to all the images I am trying to upload. I understand that the image WP displays should have the 50×50 dimension, but it shouldn’t be at the end of the image title.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, or if you could maybe just give me some direction on how to fix the image links from scratch I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks
