Is there a way to remove TAG from my url?

I want to remove the /tag/ section from my url.

From: http://www.levmp.org/calendar/tag/august/.

To:http://www.levmp.org/calendar/august/.

Unfortunately since im making a calendar by using posts, I cannot create a page and use the same layout. I found the only way to link to each month was by using the tag attribute. But if there is another solution if removing the Tag option isnt possible, id love the hear it.
