how can i create a static looking page help!

ok.. so if i wanted to create a homepage that didn’t have any blogging stuff on it and was just kind of like the cover of a book.. what would i add to my style.css to do that?

ie. if you look at the page that i’ve created called ‘prog.’ on my website – to start with.. how would i get rid of the white body??
