    WordPress version: 3.3.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.1.9

I did this: …created custom meta information per page/post.

I expected the plugin to do this: …correctly submit meta information to search engines via sitemap.

Instead it did this: …custom meta information not showing up in Google.

Firstly, I’ve used this plugin before and haven’t run into any problems with it – ever. That being said, we’re running into a few issues that we are unsure of how to resolve.

This image shows what’s showing up in Google Alerts vs. what we have in production for the page SEO.

Any ideas why the meta information doesn’t seem to be coming through? It’s like this for most of the pages and we’re wondering if perhaps the problem is on Google’s side? As in, Google’s indexing both the OLD seo info as well as the NEW seo?

cmegown, your google alert matches on your set keyword, so it creates a snippet based on that. You can’t force your description to show up. Please read the FAQ.

Apologies, I don’t know how I missed that section in the FAQ!

We currently don’t have any focus keywords set, only a title and description. Here’s a better image. Could you point out what it is that we’re doing wrong?

Thank you so much for your help 🙂

Well you needn’t do anything particularly, you just need to realize that if Google doesn’t find the keyword the searcher searched for in your meta description, it’ll show a random snippet from your page.

Sorry, I was misunderstanding you before. Thanks for your help and advice!

However, we are still having the more troubling problem of inconsistent titles. If you look back at the first image you’ll see they aren’t showing up the same, and on some pages/posts, the title simply isn’t showing up at all.

Is it possible that some old SEO from previous versions of the site is sticking around and causing the search results to be inconsistent?

Again, thank you so much for your help 🙂 one of the reason I’ve been such a fan of your plugins!
