• Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my WordPress blog. I updated to 3.3.2, and now I got a blank screen and I can’t access anything! I’ve already tried everything: I manually disabled all the plugins, I deleted all themes except the default one, and I also checked my config file to see if something was wrong. I also tried cleaning the wp_options table, removing all the options related to plugins I don’t use anymore. None of these worked. I also tried to rollback, but this didn’t work either. I don’t know what to do anymore. I also tried to contact my server’s support, bit I’m still waiting for an answer.
This happened when I tried deactivating a plugin to change RAM options. My server’s log error show that initially it was a memory problem, but now I don’t have errors anymore, and I still can’t access my site. Is there something I can do, beside all I’ve already tried?

  • I am having the same problem. As soon as I delete this plug-in, I can see my dashboard page again. Using WordPress 3.3.2 with Atahualpa 3.7.7 theme (that is the newest theme update). Macbook Pro with 8 MGs ram. Sure hope someone knows how i can fix this.

My blank page does not go away even when I delete plugins (manually through phpmyadmin or by renaming the plugin folder via FTP).

I renamed mine through ftp and/or deleted them and then once I refresh the page, the dashboard reappears.

I’m wondering if it is a theme issue????

I also tried removing all themes except the default one. Didn’t work.

Any files in wp-content/mu-plugins, delete them. Any advanced-cache.php in wp-content, delete.

Delete all files except wp-config.php and wp-content/uploads, re-upload a fresh WordPress. If still nothing, make a subfolder under the web root and install WordPress again there, with another table prefix, just to see if it works. This will tell you if there is something with the server, host or your account, or something with the current database tables. Usually, “something” with the database will not cause blank pages.

Another approach is getting hold of the PHP error log. This will tell you why it crashes, in technical terms. You may then post the recent error that is realted to your site here.

Just to be sure: The default theme is twentyeleven, not default.

… I know that the default theme is “twentyeleven”! I used the word “default” just to be clear.

I checked my error log after working around every possibile file again. Now the error is “File does not exists”.

“File does not exists” is probably not from the PHP error log, but the web server log, and as such it’s harmless to WordPress.

With PhpMyAdmin you can check the template and stylesheet options in the options table. Could help setting them both to twentyeleven.

Yeah, sorry, I was talking about my server error log.
I tried changing the options you mentioned to “twentyeleven”. Nothing changed, I still get the blank page.
Just a question; I had to rewrite my .htaccess because it got corrupted (I was using pretty permalinks). I reuploaded it but that didn’t work, but now I have a doubt: in which directory exactly should I upload this .htaccess?

Problem solved. I tried installing wordpress in a new folder, and when I uploaded the old database the blank screen appeared again. Guess a plugin somehow corrupted the database. Thanks everyone!
