Support » Plugin: VoteIt » VoteIt: A Post or a Widget?

  • I installed the plugin on my blog (www.claudiolessa.com) but could not find it on the widgets section. I would like to have the vote on the side, on a semi-permanent basis (until I decide to remove it, usually after a few days). However, after checking the VoteIt page, I managed to create a vote that turned out to be a post (which is not the ideal situation, because it will disappear from sight after other posts). Is there a way of making VoteIt a widget, so I can place it outside the post timeline? Thanks. Claudio Lessa (claudiolessa@claudiolessa.com)

    Claudio:

Actually, while this isn’t exactly built into the plugin, if you’re comfortable with HTML, you can put the widget anywhere you want. The code looks like this:

    <iframe src="https://www.voteit.com/v/TiExbj1oq4MzVk2/embed" scrolling="no" width="320" height="360" style="border:none;"></iframe>

Just set the iframe src to the URL of the vote, with /embed added to the end of it. I think at some point we will put this embed code inside the “Share” button menu for easy copying and pasting.

    I hope this helps!
