Add Link refreshes page without saving

    After two years of no issues, suddenly I have an issue with adding links. I click on the hyperlink button, type in the address and when I hit “Add Link” it refreshes the page and I lose everything I typed.
    I have tried this in three different browsers, logged out and in, cleared caches etc.
    On occasion I find I also have issues with the add media function simply not working.
    This is becoming very frustrating, as it was intermittent at first, but is becoming more and more constant. I can’t get anything done when I keep losing all my text!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
