    Hi all,

I have just moved my WordPress.com blog to WordPress.org and my own host and have had to change themes.

I’m now using Magazine Basic and I want to have a post slider on the front page of my site, below the navigation but above the first post.

Is this possible? I have downloaded slider plugins but have no idea how to get the slider to show up on my home page.

    Any help is much appreciated!

  • Yes it is definitely possible if the post slider is compatible to your current WordPress version.

How will I know that? I am using version 3.3.2 and the current slider I have is ‘Front Slider’

I’m just wondering how I get it to show on the home page? Do I need to enter some code somewhere or something or do I need a different slider? I’ve also tried Easy Nivio Slider and Smooth Slider and have no idea how to get it to show on the homepage.

    Thanks.

MelKeh, it looks like you got the slider working on The Fashion Journo. The site looks good.

Would you mind sharing what slider plugin you’re now using? Also, did you format anything special in its settings? Could it work from the setting panels, or did you have to do any code work?

    Thanks.

Hey! Yes I got it working. I am using ‘Front Slider’ and I had to search through the forums to find a line of code. I then inserted the code into my Style.css sheet… just anywhere. and it worked!

Have a look through the posts in the forum on sliders and you should be able to find some code that will work for you. It was quite basic but it was the only one that worked for me.
