Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
Updating your wordpress might also help try that..
Thanks guys.
Yes I deactivated them one at time and found the root cause. Nice.
Much appreciated

BTW: Sorry for this offtopic question, but somehow they are related since I was afraid that I messed up something in the admin area.
It is regarding backups. If I copy all my files from a FTP software and store them at my harddrive, is this considered as a valid backup of my site or what is the approach here??
Nope – that’s not a backup at all. First and foremost, you need to backup your database as that’s where the bulk of your site’s content is actually stored. Then you could download a copy of your wp-content/uploads folder so that you have an offsite copy of your images & attachments. Finally, always keep a copy of any themes you have customised.
Anything else, you should be able to re-download from the original source.
Thanks Esmi.
I can backup my database from phpmyadmin and also my server provider takes regulary backups.
I am not sure I can download from original source? I paid someone from vworker to make a website for me, I guess he picked the template. He never told me how to retrieve it again.
Are there any wordpress plugins to do the backup? I prefer free ones
