I’m trying to use Events Manager to have a schedule of upcoming DJ performances, as well as an archive of past performances, and attach podcasts to the archived events. I cannot get past performances to display as expected.

I’ve changed the Permalink Slugs to use /performances instead of /events and added a “Past Performances” tag to each event (3 total) that happened in the past. However, http://djspacemonkey.com/performances/tags/past-performances/ does not show any of those three events. I also added the tag “Podcast” to two of those past events, yet http://djspacemonkey.com/performances/tags/podcast/ also shows neither of those posts. (And both tag views have an unwanted “Upcoming Events” heading of the empty list.)

I tried using the automatic archive ability of the plugin by manually editing the “Upcoming Performances” page’s permalink slug from http://djspacemonkey.com/performances/ to http://djspacemonkey.com/upcoming/, but the past events would still not display on the /performances page.

The only way I’ve found to make past events appear in any list is to change “Event list scope” to “All events”, but then the main list shows both future and past events instead of future only.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • try to use these placeholder in your Settings > Formats/Layouts > Tags Format > Single tag page format
    e.g.

    #_TAGPASTEVENTS
    #_TAGNEXTEVENTS
    #_TAGALLEVENTS

OK, I went with #_TAGALLEVENTS, since the way I’m reading this the Single tag page format will affect any /tags generated page.

Now that I see this in action, I also understand better how to customize the overall layout these pages. Thanks!

    that’s great.
