How to block IP addresses without .htaccess use

    Hello,
    someone had once posted some nice code for b2 that blocks IP addresses (some spammers) from posting.
    Any hacks out there for this purpose?

    Built into WP 1.2… under comment moderation…

    Seems when I try to add any term, say “casino”
    it still lets me post comments with this term!
    Also, is there a way to block only partial IP addresses? since they change so often,
    for example 128.3.2.x
