I have a newly setup wordpress multi-site that is working fine. But when I activate the Domain Mapping plug-in I can no longer access the Network administration screens (xyz.com/wp-admin). I can still access the sites and their admin pages (such as siteA.xyz.com and siteA.xyz.com/wp-admin).

I have to go into the plugin directory and delete the Domain Mapping plugin folder to get access to the network admin screens.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Are you perhaps also using the Multi-Network plugin? There are reports of similar issues with that… http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-multi-network-im-lost?replies=5#post-2685527

If not, I’d suggest finding out whether it is the Domain Mapping plugin alone that’s causing the problem, or a possible interaction with another plugin. If you deactivate all other plugins, does the problem persist?

I only have that one plugin active and I have the issue.
The only other plugin I have installed is the Askimet plugin.

Which domain mapping plugin? (yes there are a few!)

    Are you network activating it?

It’s the most common one: “WordPress MU Domain Mapping”. The error happens when I network activate it.
Please note: I am also taking the manual steps as listed for the install (copy sunrise.php and edit wp_config.php).

And it fails right away when you activate it?

Remove the sunrise file and the line in your wp-config, and just try to activate it (it will let you, but it’ll tell you it won’t work, this is just to see where it’s failing)
