Well, you might need to be a little more specific as to what you’re trying to do.
But to answer your question, yes it’s possible. You can edit the page.php template and take out the calls to the sidebar and footer, and then hard-code something else in there.
I didn’t have a page.php in the theme I am using. Can I just add that file and arrange it accordingly?
nicekicks – please list the files you have inside your theme… not all themes are the same, and I wouldn’t go creating pages until you’ve learned more about how themes work… http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development

I found out that in fact my template didnt have a page.php file. I copied the index theme, made the appropriate changes, and yhatzee I got it.

I’ve wanted to edit out the ‘Comments are disabled’ text on pages as its irrelevant.
