Blog page issues. Page templates conflicting

Hi,

My blog at http://www.jobuate.com/blog/ is having some issues. I created a custom page template for the landing page of my website (www.jobuate.com) and now for some reason when I try and add the blog page it decides to use the image from the landing page. I’m aware that the way I’ve done things probably isn’t the most elegant of solutions but I really can’t figure out why its doing this. I’ve tried resetting the theme, disabling plugins, making all posts private and creating a new blog page several times.

My guess is that theres some conflict in the page templates but i’m not sure how that could have happened. If anyone has a fix or suggestion would really appreciate it. I should add that the custom page template I created doesn’t have widgets whereas the blog page does so they are using different templates.
