    Hi,

I’m having issues with two websites I’m working on at the moment.

I have the Contact Form 7 installed on both wordpress websites, and the client is not receiving emails to their email address.

It will work to my email and alternative email addresses, however both clients have email addresses that simply refuse to receive an email from the form.

One website is WP 3.3.1 and the other is 3.1.

Any ideas? I love the Contact Form7 plugin, however need to resolve this issue so I can continue using it on other websites.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Bec

I’m having the same problem. In my case, when emails are sent from Contact Form to addresses within the same domain as the website, they do not arrive. In other words, when using Contact Form at http://www.example.com, I cannot send emails to johndoe@example.com. Email addresses outside of the domain work great. There is nothing in spam/junk folders, and no activity appears in the log of the email server. Any ideas?

My emails are not being sent, regardless of the domain I have set for sending them. This started happening today. It appears to affect more than one website too. We have Contact 7 installed on many sites.

Was something changed in the code??

Ok, this issue seems to be a WordPress issue. I installed Custom Contact forms plugin and it doesn’t work with that plugin either.

Who should we contact for this??

Ok, this issue seems to be a WordPress issue…

    No, it’s not.

I didn’t hijack. Since the issue first appeared with Contact 7, posting here makes sense. And yes, I did post a new comment thread, because not everyone using Contact 7 may be affected, as is the case with me once I tried more than one contact plugin on more than one web host.

    Thanks for your help!

I believe I have the same issue as jaybarr and hatchlingonline.

    – Email notifications are not being sent if the backend/form admin “To:” field has an email with the same domain as the site. The warning error, “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” is displayed on form submission.
    – Emails have difficulty being sent if the frontend Email field has an email with the same domain as the site. The success message is displayed on form submission but there is a delay with the email being received. Also, the received email could not resolve the correct “From” client email address (useremail@domain.com) in the header info; instead displaying something along the lines of “host-username@mailservername.bluehost.com”.

In both cases, the data submitted by the form is still being received by the database (seen via the plugin Contact Form to DB Extension).

I’m thinking these issues are related to the fact that the site is hosted on one host provider (BlueHost) and that the client’s MX-Records resides with another host/service (?).

Any thoughts or suggestions based on the info? I will try a couple of things and will report back if I have any success.

I fixed my issue by using “wp-mail-smtp” plugin. I configured it with a gmail account. I do warn you this: the email account you use to configure it with will have an exposed password for whomever has admin access to the Dashboard.

But it does solve the issue without having to get into the DNS of your servers.

Thanks, expfarm! That appears to work for me, too! We may be two hijackers 🙂 but your plugin idea was really helpful. Thanks again!
