This is a great idea for a plugin. Simple idea but so few people have done this. Every client I have heard from wants some kind of “subscribe to my blog” widget where people visiting their site can just type in an e-mail address and subscribe to a blog manually. They don’t know what RSS feeds are and don’t want to learn.

I tell them that no plugin has been developed yet to allow for this unless they use WordPress.com; at least none I can find through the Extensions section.

This is a great idea and it looks great. It may work, but the spacing of the forms; specifically, the length of the forms, was an issue for me that can’t yet be resolved: The forms were so long that they stretched out into the middle of the web page when I uploaded it as a widget without trying to edit any HTML or Javascript.

So…in conclusion…the widget may work, but be aware that if you try to use it as a widget you may have very long form spaces.

  • When I first installed it as a sidebar widget, the form field for entering an email address stretched out beyond the width of my sidebar. But then I went to the admin settings for this plugin and found this option unchecked:

“Use default style for Navayan Subscribe form on Page, Post, Widget?”

I checked that option, and that solved the problem. The form field now fits comfortably in the sidebar.

I will try that and see if it works. Thank you.

Your suggestion worked! Thanks. Seems to be working thus far.
