need this too because selling book without description is more dificult to do.Hope this can be done easyly.

aha, just saw this AFTER posting the same thing just now. This indeed is important for trying to sell books. I like this plugin lots more than many many of the alternatives, but the others do serve the product description. any timeline on this? 🙂

Unfortunately Amazon does not actually give the product description in the API return data. So what that means, is there is not really a way to display it. They DO return what they call an “Editorial Review” which is the Product Description on Amazon.com, BUT they only return that for items that they actually write the description for – and currently that is mostly only Kindle items. They also will not return an editorial review (description) that references a copyrighted element (which could be a synopsis, or a quote from a book, etc. – so that limits it further).
If I can find a way to actually get the description on more items, I will add it to the Plugin.
