tag in widget-title doesn't show

    Hi,

    I’m having trouble with my sidebar.php file. I’ve created a child theme for Twenty Eleven. When I add a <span> tag to the widget-title in sidebar.php it doesn’t seem to take shape in the browser. When I view the source in my browser (Chrome) it doesn’t show that the <span> tag has been added. I’m able to add tags in other places of sidebar.php.

    I’m basically trying to get the purple banners on the right hand side to have a flag shape on the right and in order to do this I need to add a <span> tag. Unless someone knows or a workaround? Any pointers would be much appreciated.

    Surprised to have not had any feedback regarding this issue, but I’ve found a workaround. I’ve just made it into a background image and assigned it to that class, however I would have preferred not to have done it this way.
