If Theme Has No “archive.php, single.php” files

    I have downloaded some themes, such as “notebook” and a few others and notice that they dont have all the files that some other themes do (like the default for example). My question is;

    When installing these themes, what does wordpress use as the archive.php, & single.php files if they dont exist in the theme? Does it use the default files?
