Looks like it was a browser issue not saving the comments.
One thing though, can we code the message where it says “You Must login to comments” as I believe we could loose people – so make login a link to the registration page.
Also what recommendations do you have for spam? I have seen a massive jump in it on the site the last few days via the comments sytem on WPPA.
Its a shame as I really love this plugin and like the idea of people being allowed to comment whether members or not – I just want to stop the site getting spam (maybe a recaptcha?)
Thank you for your input.
Login link: is on the wishlist now.
Captcha: is on the wishlist now.
I’ve used captcha before and a lot of russian domains were able to defeat it.
Perhaps a better more effective solution would be to tie the photo comments into Akismet (if it is even possible).
Most of the blogs are already running JetPack and/or Akismet which catches all of the Posts and Pages comments spam.
Not sure if the folks at Automattic would even allow this however.
I tried wp-reCaptcha, but it will not give me a one piece of html that i can use in all slide-htmls/js. It echos the html on the wrong place, and a pile of them all different. So that is of no use.
I will go into Akismet to see if i can implement it. Thanx for the idea.
How do you think about a simple calculation captcha?
Actually, I prefer math type captchas over word type.
This is just a personal preference since I have 10 fingers and I can still add 🙂
I am not sure though whether math captchas are more effective than word captchas
Ok, that sounds hopefull, that you do not reject it right away.
Ha!
Captcha math is certainly better than nothing 🙂
Perhaps it is a good interim solution since it might take some back and forth to get Automattic to allow integration with their Akismet plugin.
Good luck Opa!
Marcus
Yes, a good ad interim, and i like to have all programming in my own hands. So this is my first new feature topic now.
