Hi again. I have another issue. I moved your pluign from the sidebar to the header and it does no longer get translated into Italian when I switch to the Italian version of my website. I just copied and pasted the html code of the plugin into my header.php. Maybe this is not the right way to do it and I should only type a call function in the header referring to your plugin. But I don’t know how to do it. Do you have any suggestion?
Yeah copying and pasting HTML code doesn’t do the trick.
You could adapt your theme to have a widget area in your header.
No idea how to do it. Do you have some suggestions?
I have another language problem. When I click on a given category in the drop down menu in the Italian version of my website I am linked to the English version of the category page. Please check yourself.
Hello!
I would like to know (if it’s possible) how to change the title “Select Category” into something more suitable for my blog?
Thank you in advance!
Ok I just find how (so simple u_u) Anyway, if someone wants to do the same :
You can change the text Select Category in the General Options page. (Select Category Alternative).
I jump in this conversation with a related request. I would like to delete the sentence “Select Category” from the dropdown menu. I edited the plugin file extended-categories-widget/widget-pre2.8.php and deleted the sentence “Select Category” there. But the sentence is till displayed in the dropdown menu.
Shall i edit some other php files?
It depends on which version of WordPress you are using:
WordPress >= 2.8 and < 3.3
2.8/class/avh-ec.widgets.php
WordPress >= 3.3
3.3/class/avh-ec.widgets.php
thanks, it works.
by the way, in another post I asked how I can link categories from the dropdown menu to specific language pages
