• I’m making great use of most of Yoast’s WordPress SEO plugin, but the one feature I don’t know how to use is the ‘social’ feature, with the Open Graph implementation.

So far as I can see, there’s no documentation provided for it.

I’ve got the “add Open Graph meta data” box ticked, but when I experiment with adding a post from my site to my Facebook status, none of the meta description or title shows, nor is there an image from the post. It’s just the URL.

I’m also uncertain of the “Use a Facebook page/ app as an admin” buttons – what are they for?

  • Saw this a few hours ago, funny. Anyway, all it does is make a face-book friendly title, description, etc. for likes on pages for your website. (You wouldn’t want a 80 character title on a Facebook like, you’d want something alot more short.)

I havent implemented yet, seems cool though!

Yeh, I understand what it does – just not how to get it working.

I tick the box, but like I say, it doesn’t appear to have an effect. There’s no explanation of what the other buttons on the page are for, either.

Yeah. Well, once you turn it on, you have to re-visit page/posts on your website, and there will be a new tab, called “social” where you can alter the Open Graph meta data.

But that’s only if you don’t want to use the default meta description. I don’t see any description at all when I paste my URLs to Facebook.

I’ll probably just look for a plugin that works with OG and has documentation.
