Is there a way to show only a preview of each article instead of the whole article when article show up in categories or on the home page? I want them to show up the way they do when the search results are displayed.

if you haven’t already, please start by creating a child theme to make the edits with http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

then, in content.php, change this line:
```
<?php if ( is_search() ) : // Only display Excerpts for Search ?>
```
into:
```
<?php if ( is_search() || is_home() || is_archive() ) : // Only display Excerpts for Search ?>
```

great thank you. the only problem is now that im using a child theme most of my 2011 appearance settings did not get carried over. is there anyway to fix that?
