    Hey there,

firstly i want to thank you for your great plugin πŸ™‚

I want to offer a menu in my contact form and wanted to choose your plugin to make the link nicer.

The page containing the contact form only contains an tag like [contact-form-7], nothing more. If i add the wanted pretty link below that tag, the link will be designed. If i add the pretty link within the form, it just displays the full tag, but wont do any design work.

    This is the page: http://www.elbe-erlebnistoerns.de/charteranfrage/

Can someone maybe show me the trick to get it working? πŸ™‚

    Best regards, Marko

    Hello Marko,

I’m glad you like the plugin.

Unfortunately the problem lies with Contact form 7 not processing shortcodes in forms. I can’t fix this unfortunately.

The good news is that there is an easy way to make your links look like pretty file links – just add the classes “prettylink zip” to your link and they will take the style of the style you have selected in the admin area.

    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    James

    Hey James,

    thanks for your response πŸ™‚

Adding the class to the link helped a lot πŸ™‚ Maybe you should write this great tip to the plugin description/installation guide, so search-lazy users will find that, too.

    Best regards,
    Marko

P.S: Since 0.5 the plugin loads this url: /wp-admin/PRETTY_FILE_LIST_URL/styles/prettylist.css
I think something went wrong here

    Hello Marko,

Thanks for the tip on the error – its fixed now and you’ll get it in the next release. Clearly working on two plugins at once was getting to me and I misspelled the core CSS file! I take it this error was only showing until you chose a style and saved?

I’ll also add the tip about just adding the classes to links to get pretty file links.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hey James,

i found that every visits demands another version of your .css file, e.g.

    /wp-content/plugins/pretty-file-links//styles/prettylinks_inline.css?ver=4254

Because the version changes for each visit, it is uncachable for the user.

    Best regards, Marko

    Hello Marko,

This isn’t something that my plugin is doing – it’s a WordPress thing.

When I look at the links on my sites I see:
    /wp-content/plugins/pretty-file-links//styles/prettylinks.css?ver=3.3.1

The current WP version number is appended – this shouldn’t change on each page load so the files should be cached ok. I did find this site that shows you how to remove the version for all js and css files if you want to:

    http://www.sharepointjohn.com/wordpress-remove-version-query-strings-from-javascript-js-and-css-stylesheet-files/

If your problem is different to this let me know what your site url is and I’ll take a look.

    Thanks,
    James
