[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Slow sitemap generation

    I have over 80,000 posts. The generation of the sitemaps via the WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast can be rather slow with that many posts. I end up with over 80 individual post-sitemap files, but most of these have content that is never changing. Is there a way to generate the older sitemap files in batch and not have them generated dynamically every time?
