• Hi,

    I have the letter “s” displayed before my doctype, as shown below:

    s<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" dir="ltr" lang="fr-FR">
    <head profile="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

    I’ve tried to apply a new theme, it doesn’t change anything, it’s not an issue at the theme level.

    I’ve looked at the index.php located in the root folder

    I use a proper text editor (textwrangler), it doesn’t look like a BOM as mentioned here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/weird-characters-inserted-before-doctype?replies=3

    I have this bug since many months now, i’ve upgraded today with the latest version of WP 3.3.1 and it didn’t change anything.

    Your help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    This bug is driving me nuts

  • I have the same issue!
    I noticed it since I created a new function.php to my child theme, but removing it didn’t solve the problem.
    What is it?
