• My blog stopped working last night, and I can’t figure out why. The error apparently occurred late last night, when I wasn’t even on-line (nobody else has admin privileges). First the URI brought up a blank page, then in Firefox it would produce the posts but not the sidebars – though it put up many, many posts, rather than the 9 it’s set to show, so maybe the sidebar would have appeared eventually. In IE, entering the URI gave a message asking me to confirm that I wanted to download the site.

Going to wp-admin brought up a page saying the database was out-of-date and “click here to upgrade” – as though I’d upgraded WP. I upgraded shortly after WP2 came out, but haven’t done anything since.

Clicking to upgrade brought everything back to normal – front page, other pages, archives, sidebars, admin stuff – everything.

    Any ideas?

  • Where is your blog? Who is your host and I’d have a chat to them too.

Blog is at notsheep.net. It’s hosted with a friend, who actually noticed it last night (that’s how I know when the problem started – I didn’t know until this morning) and tried to contact me then. They weren’t doing any maintenance or anything like that either, and are as baffled as I am.
