    Hi guys,

    Is there any way to disallow html in a Name and Description field for a Group?

    Spammers create groups and put bold and links into group descriptions.
    It breaks the web-site apart from heaps of not relevant links.

    One spammer was able to put a link into the Group Name even!

    How to disable html there?

    Is this just with BP Group Hierarchy enabled, or with a regular BP install?

    If it happens with regular BP, you should report this to the BuddyPress team. If not, I’ll poke around and see what I can do.

    Could not answer earlier, the web-site was attacked (it allowed me to learn a lot about databases :))).

    You absolutely right. It happens in regular BP install (I think so because I was able to update my profile at… buddypress.org! with links 🙂 I was able to use , but not <b>)

    I realise now it does not relate to the plugin but to buddypress more likely.

    haha :)) look at my message above, I forgot to put backticks and it converted my <a href=""> to links :))
