Support » Plugin: Timely All-in-One Events Calendar » [Plugin: All-in-One Event Calendar] Event details page not functioning

  • Hi, I’m using the Molitor Politico theme with WordPress version 3.3.1. I’m not new to tech work, but I am new to WordPress and CSS; so finding what “styling code” goes with what is not at all second nature to me, and I’m not yet used to the lingo.

I’ve also seen replies that suggest, “Oh, JUST deactivate other plugins.” Doesn’t this undo all settings for those plugins that will have to be reset, including any featured pictures, etc, when reactivated? That would be a lot of work, should that be the suggestion here.

In any case, here’s the problem: I have installed & activated the calendar, set up some categories, and added some events. The calendar page looks good, and hovering over the individual events SEEMS to work right up to the point that I “click anywhere to see details.”

When I click on an event on the main calendar page–I have it month view–this does bring me to a second page with that event’s title. But that’s it. NO DETAILS. There is nothing else on that page. No details, no map, no time, no venue, etc. JUST THE TITLE where a page or post title would be.

    Any ideas?

    Oh, the link is: .

The link didn’t work well in the above.

    Try this: http://www.alec-destroys-democracy.org.

    Thanks for any help,
    Susan

There is a similar bug report from another user. I have access to his/her wordpress and I will update you once I know what the problem is. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Yani,

Sorry, I really did look through the forum before posting this as new. I guess my eyes crossed. And then, when I looked again a day later, I added my problem to that other bug report before seeing your reply here. Sigh.

Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help, like add a user to my website, etc.

    Thanks again,
    Susan

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. I couldn’t find the other forum so I posted in this one.
WP is updated at 3.3.1 version
The calendar page works, the widget works but the Event details page doesn’t.
I tried to deactivate all others plugins but the Event details page is still not working. It shows up the right url but the page is blank.

Please let me know if I can do anything to help you out and solve this issue

    Hi,

just a guess: lack of memory (php wants more than it is allowed by config/php.ini)?

If you have access to webserver error log, search it for lines like
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of XYZ bytes exhausted .

XYZ depends on your config/php.ini (example: 8388608 for 8Megabytes)

When I ran into those “blank web pages” problems, it was mostly caused by a too small value for php memory_limit (so at least th symptom was the same).

    Cheers,
    Ulle

    @ullemehner
Actually I’m working in local with MAMP, do you think there might be the problem of lack of memory in this case?
If so how can I increase the memory when I work in local?

@sglee2120 did you find this helpful?

    Thanks

    @jumust

I’ve found the other thread mentioned by yani :
    plugin-all-in-one-event-calendar-event-details-not-showing

The symptoms differ quite much over there:
    – Some see a blank page (as in this thread here)
    – Some get 404 errors
    – Some can solve their trouble if they remove ?instance_id=XY from URL (or in php code)

It gets rather unlikely that memory_limit is involved.

To answer your second question I found this with google:
http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/ , but I recommend not to spend much time on it …

    Cheers,
    Ulle

This may help the troubleshooting by the developer:

I’m using the latest wordpress with fresh install and the latest of the plugin. Been putting in all day events that repeat each week with no troubles until I do it for Monday which happens to be the start of the week. If I make Sunday the start of the week I still can’t add any kind of all day event on Monday for some reason …

IF i turn off all day event box and select the hours from 12 a.m. to 11:45 p.m (all day), it will error out as well to a 404 file not found. If I select 12:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. (just shy of the full day) it works …

Oh yeah, since I up’d the memory i no longer get the memory error, just the 404 file not found …

I can set an all day event for Monday if I set it to repeat each month, but i can’t set an all day even if I set it to repeat each week on monday…
