I asked this before here about a month ago but received no responses. The problem remains. When I first installed Word Press I created a text sidebar (Sidebar 1) but now I cannot edit it nor can I do anything on the widgets page. Everything is completely locked up. The site I’m referring to is: http://www.aspectsintegrationcoaching.com

I have another WP site and the widget section is working just fine:
http://www.becomeyourtrueauthenticself.com and I didn’t do anything different when setting up the two, so I’m perplexed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • It sounds like the theme, more directly the functions.php for aspectsintegrationcoaching.com is missing the register_sidebar calls or maybe the sidebar is missing it.

You can also try switching back to the default theme to see if that clears the issue. If so, then it’s for sure something with the functions.php or possibly the sidebar.

Thank you for your input tribalNerd, although I don’t really understand this language. What do I do with the info written about in the link you posted?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Dear esmi. That did the trick! I only had 2 plugins active on the site where the widgets are working but on the one that they weren’t working I had three so I deactivated that third one (it was for improving comments) and that solved the problem. Thanks!

    Glad I could help 🙂
