Discussion checked posts don't show comment box

    On a website I have designed and administer, when I check the “Discussion” box (to allow comments), it works with Pages but not with Posts. Posts don’t show the comment box at the bottom of the post. The comment box is there on Pages, though.

    Can anyone think of something I may be doing wrong?

    the main ‘settings – discussion’ only take effect for posts created after the changes;

    have you also checked the ‘allow comments’ under

    dashboard – posts – all posts : quick-edit below each post title ?

    or under the ‘screen options’ tab near the top right on the ‘edit post’ page – have you ticked ‘discussion’ and then scrolled down to below the post editor to allow comments?

    Yes to everything you have suggested in your post. I just can’t get the comments box to be there. If you click on About Us (a page not a post) you will see the discussion box at the bottom. But the Blog page doesn’t show comments. This is VERY frustrating.

    by default, the blog page (and any archive page) does not show comments.

    once you click on the title of an individual post, there you have the comments.
