I am using the latest version of WordPress and none of my plugins seems to work. They all appear in my plugin sections, but nothing actually seems to activate.

  • Are you getting any error while activating?

    Which browser are you using?

I am using the most recent version of Firefox. I am not getting any error message, the plugins just do not seem to be doing anything.

I have this kind of problem before.

What I don’t realise is if you see the word ‘Activate’ beside every of your plugins, it means that your specific plugin (or plugins) is not activated.

So, you have to click on the ‘Activate’ once until the color for that specific plugins change and now the word ‘Activate’ will become ‘Not Activated’ (or something like that)

Actually, I’m new to this wordpress and blogging. So, this solution is mostly dedicated to newbies like me.

(Now, I am facing problem with RSS feed, I can’t send my ‘feed’ to Yahoo!… MSN… or Google… already asked for help at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/69844?replies=7 )

Do you have any specific examples you can point us at?

Sorry… what do u mean by specific examples?

And I’m confuse to whom are you asking to?

Activate. I assumed that meant that the plugin was already activated.
Thank you for your replies everyone.
    I’m just not too bright.
    Haha, activate…

I am new to this also and have spent the whole day trying to figure out how to make this work. I am having plug-in problems. Yahoo is the ISP and my plug in age on the word press blog says the plug ins are activated – does that mean they should work? Because they don’t – do I have to configure them somehow? I am trying right now to get the postie plug in to work. I want to be able to e-mail a post. Please can you help?

    KaySue,
Plugins are written by lots of different people, and they are all unique. Where you configure them also depends on the plugin. Many plugins, after you activate them, will place a new menu under the top Options menu. So after activating the plugin, click the Options tab, and look for a sub tab for that plugin.

You do need to activate the plugins. Just uploading them is not enough. From the Plugins menu, you will see a list of all *installed* plugins… just because they are installed doesn’t mean they are activated. You must click the “Activate” link in the far right column. On the plugins menu, you see the rows of installed plugins. If the row is grey or white colored, the plugin is *not* activated. If it is green, it is activated.
