• I have re installed wordpress 3.3.1. and have made several attempts to post my afternoon podcast episode but all of my attempts have failed. I have tried both the drop-in loader and he browser loader. When attempting to load my media I see a progress bar and once in a while I see crunching but even after ten minutes there is no progress. Are there any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I appreciate the advice. This whipped all of my feed address an now iTunes will not recognize my old feed. Also the problem is still present thank you though.

this sounds identical to the problems I’ve been having trying to upload images. The only fix I’ve found is to downgrade to 3.2.

    @03usmcrar_wa: Site or feed url?

    sorry, esmi!

The feed thing worked itself out. However, the upload issue is persistent. It stalls while crunching. How do I down grade WordPress versions?

To downgrade, download WP 3.2. Make a new wp-config file (its in the WP root) with your database name, database password, secure keys, etc.

Then ftp 3.2’s wp-includes folder, wp-admin folder, and all root files. Do not touch wp-content. It might be smart to delete the 3.3 folders before sending the new ones up. That’s how I did it anyway.

This worked for me on a very lean (brand new, no plugins, default theme) WP site. Everything was running just peachy, all I had to do was ‘update the database’ and that went smoothly. I have not tried it on a more complex site yet. I’d disable the plugins first, then do the downgrade.

I have no idea how to do any of that…

right, its kind of technical. WP has automatic upgrade capabilities but for downgrades you need to do it manually. there should be a plugin for this..

here’s the new wrinkle, the files are being uploaded to my host but are not visible in WordPress

I am having the same exact issue and I am stuck as well. Who are you using for hosting?

    Host gator

Hmmmm, I’m using Hostgator too. I saw someone else on another thread w/ the same problem using hostgator. I wonder if it has something to do with them?

I spent about 3 hours with them yesterday. They say that they had no problem uploading it on their end.

They were trying their best to help though.
