Optimizing website load times

    What are some things I can do to help make sure my site is loading as fast as possible?

    I am using this as a homepage http://subella.com

    But this is an example of 1 of the 3 pages I will be using as the main source of content or purpose of my site http://subella.com/courtney

    A lot of videos, a lot of content/pics (soon to come)

    What are some plugins and/or some tips and tricks? Generally it seems like the websites in my niche are just under 9 seconds so for now I’d like to shoot for that, and progress when I have more experience/money to work with a designer
