Blog Hacked, Replaced index.php Page, Updated… Now this…
-
hi all
I have a WP site @ http://www.powerwashcleaning.co.uk
The website was hacked last week and I was informed off my host that I have to replace the index.php file with an original index.php … I created another WP blog and downloaded the index.php file, then I overwritten the hacked index.php file.
After that only my home page would show, non of the other pages would work, alls I’d get is 404 error etc…
Then, I logged into the WP Admin area, and I click ‘update’ or ‘upgrage’ the version of the WP which was done automatically.
After that, all’s I now get is:
“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare the_editor() (previously declared in /home/leekenny/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php:1789) in /home/leekenny/public_html/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 2635”
I am using cPanel to host this website.
If anyone can shed any light on what I can do to correct this, I would really appreciate it.
What would happen if I made a mySQL database backup via cPanel, deleted the WP site, then created another WP site then reinstall the SQL database? Would this work?
Thanks in advance,
JAMiE
