Hello all, You will have to bare with me and be kind as I am still fairly rusty when it comes to designing for the web.
I am currently working on a website for a club. I am new to wordpress development and posted a different thread about the same website yesterday.
Basically I’ve mocked my site up using HTML and CSS (obviously), validated it and checked for errors and managed to whittle it down to having next to none while I was still tinkering with the design.
I then began to create my theme files etc and started to get my head around how to integrate wordpress and eventually I was able to get the functions out of it that my client wants (updating news/events and so on).
However, now that I’ve got this far, I decided to run the output through the validator again and I receive “207 Errors, 341 warning(s)”

I’m almost 100% sure half of it is just down to my lack of knowledge on the subject, but a lot of the errors seem to be things like

Line 77, Column 74: general entity “link” not defined and no default entity

    …pha.com/social?blog=Visions+Video+Bar&link=http%3A%2F%2Fvisions.awardspace.co.…

    – which wordpress is generating with PHP and as far as I’m aware I don’t have a lot of control over what it spits out?

I’m a little bit lost at this stage and I’d appreciate any help/suggestions/critique!

link to the draft of the site I’m working on is:

    http://visions.awardspace.co.uk/wordpress

It might also be worth mentioning that I’m aware the design isn’t cross browser compatible yet ( I’m still working on the design and want to get my head around wordpress first 🙂 )

    Thanks for your help

You’re absolutely spot on timDesain, I’m not just left with 19 basic errors which I made myself and can easily work out.

Do plugins tend to do this to your code? and if so is it advisable to still use them if they do? Only My client wanted a plugin like this or similar for social network sharing.

Thanks so much for your help 🙂
