7.0 update forces auto-scrolling of editor view off screen

    Hello,

    We just updated to 7.0 and it has created the most bizarre issue with the classic editor view of posts- it doesn’t happen to pages or other sections of the website, just post edit views. But once you are in that view, it begins auto-scrolling all of the dashboard to the far left behind the left column. It’s like your mouse has been hijacked immediately, the scroll begins and shoves everything to the left, and you have no way to stop it and it won’t pull back. Obviously makes the site uneditable. It’s fine in Block editor but we never ever use Block editor and never will – need classic editor to work.

    This is a huge site with over 1,000 posts so we don’t have time to redesign, so this is big deal :(.

    We are going to revert out of 7.0 for now but we always keep our sites up to date, so that isn’t a permanent solution.

    Any help is so appreciated to get this fixed.

    Unfortunately, I can’t seem to reproduce the issue you described at all. My guess is that a plugin you’re using is causing the problem. Try deactivating all plugins to see if that makes a difference.

    By the way, I also see a known bug on your end (probably the lesser problem for you right now). The links next to the update button are misaligned. You can find the ticket for this here: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/65286

    omggggg so we found the issue. it was literally our mouse going haywire.
