File Gallery and Image Sitemaps

    Is there a way the images from file gallery can be put in my imga e sitemap, I am using a plugin that is scanning the page for images.This one Google Image Sitemaps. Of course it does not find any images on pages with galleries or any other images, that are inserted with file gallery, since it cannot read the shortcode
    Is there any way to get this working ?
    I have an idea, the plugin is looking for JPG, PNG or any other graphic extension. What if there would be an option in file gallery that would add the complete filepath of every image in a list :

    Example :
    [gallery include="12085,12086,12087" link="file" link_size="large" linkclass="thickbox" galleryclass="0" template="simple"]

    would than change into
    [gallery include="12085,12086,12087" link="file" link_size="large" linkclass="thickbox" galleryclass="0" template="simple" sitemap="http://www.web.com/pic1.jpg,http://www.web.com/pic2.jpg,http://www.web.com/pic1.png"]

    does that make any sense, or is there another easier approach that I cannot see ?
    What to add the images manually and place them within <!– .. –>
    does that make more sense ?

    Oops I forgot we have to add the ALT and the TITLE as well

    @diver66: the best thing to do would be to ask the author of the sitemap plugin to add support for WordPress gallery shortcode. But I see that the plugin hadn’t been updated in a while, so it’s probably abandoned…

    I haven’t planned on adding this feature to File Gallery.

    I might add it in the future, but I cannot promise anything, sorry :/
