• Hi guys,

I’ve stumbled upon a strange redirect problem on posts which are deleted and hanging in trash status. As I try to access respective post by example via http://blog.xy?p=1234 I can see in my firebug networkcontroller, that the server response is a 301 redirect to the same page hundred multiple times. After several seconds I receive a redirect error message in my browser saying “the requested website redirects your request in a way it can never been finished”. Any idea in which file I can set an redirect to 404.php for posts which are in trash status?

    Thanks for any answer.

    cheers

  • This could be a permalink and/or .htaccess problem.

Try switching off possibly conflicting plugins.

Try not reading posts you deleted…?

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for your reply.
no permalik no .htaccess file available nor plugins handing redirects.
As I’m not the editor of the blog just technically responsible I cannot assure that any posts which are “trashed” in the meantime won’t be requested by notified users subscribing the blog. The background of my issue is that these requests produce a huge bunch of duplicated tracking entries in the statpress table what completely distort any traffic analysis data.

    cheers

Sorry, can’t help you on this. But the redirect loop is .htaccess. Perhaps something to do with your permalink settings.

Perhaps only one moderator/mail for better efficiency?
